What 35 Porta Potty Rental Calls Taught Us

We reviewed 35 recorded rental calls from 2026, removed names, numbers and addresses, and counted what renters actually ask.

What do renters order?

Most renters order units for an event. Of 35 calls, 24 were events and parties, 6 were construction or remodels, 5 asked about restroom trailers and 5 asked for accessible units. 10 callers asked about budget or a discount before booking.

What exactly do people ask?

People ask in plain words: whether code enforcement requires a unit, what happens if Thursday's forecast is all thunderstorms, whether anyone can see inside at night, what "standard" even means, and whether a company will actually call back. We answer each one on this site.

“The codes enforcement requires that I have a porta potty there for the workers.”

— General contractor, new house build

“What happens if we get to like Thursday, and the forecast looks like it's thunderstorms all weekend?”

— Business owner booking 2 units for a car show

“But you can't see inside of them at night, right?”

— Host comparing deluxe flushing units

“I don't want to pay that much for one day.”

— Host quoted a 2-stall trailer with generator

“Everybody's telling me they're going to get back to me, but they never do.”

— Caller after half an hour on hold elsewhere

“I don't know what standard means.”

— Business owner ordering for an event

“We wanted the one that flushes, so I think that's the deluxe one.”

— Birthday party host, 40–50 guests

“I need maybe about 20–30 restrooms for the big party.”

— Community event organizer, three days

“Are they bigger than the handicapped units?”

— Host sizing a deluxe unit for a yard

“We just need to have the trailer not locked up… in case we have to move it like 10 feet.”

— Film production, three locations in three days

“I just wanted to know what your basic rental fee is for a porta potty per month.”

— Remodeling contractor, 4-month job

“They come stocked with toilet paper or whatever, right?”

— Car show organizer

What did we change because of these calls?

We made five changes because of these calls. We give a yes or no on your date during the first call, put the weather policy on every quote, add night lighting as a checkbox on evening events, keep a cancellation list with text alerts for sold-out dates, and put the 28-day cycle and removal fee at the top of every jobsite quote.

Method: 35 recorded calls from 2026 were reviewed by our team. Names, numbers, emails, card details and addresses were removed before counting. Categories follow the main request in each call, and quotes are verbatim with light trimming.

FAQFROM REAL CALLS

Related questions

Every question below was asked on a real rental call. The short answer comes first, then the conditions that change it.

Will someone actually call me back?

Yes, within 30 minutes during business hours. If we can't make your date, we say so on the first call instead of leaving you on hold. One caller told us everybody else promised a callback and never made it.

What if the weather forecast turns bad?

Cancel free up to 24 hours before drop-off. For a Saturday event, that's Thursday by 3 PM. If storms or a dust event threaten, call and we'll move your date instead of cancelling. Weather isn't your fault, and we don't charge for it.

Can people see inside at night?

Standard and deluxe units have a translucent roof that lights them by day, but no electric lights. For evening events we add stick-on battery lights inside each unit. Restroom trailers have built-in lighting and work with a generator.

What does a standard porta potty mean?

A standard unit is the regular single-stall porta potty: toilet seat, urinal, holding tank, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. No flush, no sink, no hookups. It's right for jobsites, car shows, field days and casual parties.

What if you're sold out on my date?

We'll check for cancellations and put you on a callback list right then. You'll get a text if a unit frees up. We'll also tell you the nearest open date, or offer a standard unit if the deluxe is gone.
