48QUESTIONS

Every question our callers ask

This page answers 48 porta potty questions taken from real rental calls. They cover timing, wind and freezes, prices, units, cleaning, jobsite and oilfield rules, and weather cancellations. The short answer always comes first.

Booking and timing

Can you bring a porta potty today?

Yes, inside Lubbock and the nearby towns. Call (806) 301-4747 by 12 PM Monday–Saturday and dispatch checks which truck is closest. A same-day rush fee starts at $85, and we quote it before you book. Same-day orders are taken by phone only.

Do you deliver on Saturday?

We run trucks Monday through Saturday. Weekend events are normally dropped Friday and picked up Monday at no extra charge, so the unit is waiting for you before the first guest arrives.

What time will it show up?

Drop-offs run 8 AM to 5 PM, and the driver calls about 30 minutes ahead. You can ask for morning or afternoon. Event units go out the day before so the timing never squeezes your setup.

Can you drop off at 5:30 in the morning?

Yes, for production crews, races and early-start jobs, by appointment. Early or after-hours drops carry a timed-delivery fee that we quote up front. Give us the call time and the exact spot.

Will someone actually call me back?

Yes, within 30 minutes during business hours. If we can't make your date, we say so on the first call instead of leaving you on hold. One caller told us everybody else promised a callback and never made it.

What if you're sold out on my date?

We'll check for cancellations and put you on a callback list right then. You'll get a text if a unit frees up. We'll also tell you the nearest open date, or offer a standard unit if the deluxe is gone.

Do you really deliver to Midland, Amarillo or Hobbs?

Yes, on scheduled routes. Cities 90–135 miles out are booked 24–48 hours ahead and serviced on a fixed route day. A distance charge starting at $95 is listed on its own line. New Mexico sites run on Mountain Time, so we quote the window in your local time.

Can your truck reach a ranch or lease road?

Usually, if the caliche or dirt is dry and firm. Tell us about cattle guards, gates and soft spots. After a heavy rain we may set the unit at the pavement edge so the service truck doesn't bog down.

Wind, dust, freezes and placement

Will the wind blow it over?

Not when it's set right. Lubbock averages about 12.4 mph wind, and spring gusts and dust storms can top 60 mph, so we stake or strap units on open lots and face doors away from the south wind. Never untie a staked unit to move it.

What about dust storms?

Units are sealed except for the roof vent, so dust settles on the outside, not in the tank. After a blowing-dust day, a regular service wipes them down. For events, we turn doors away from the wind so dust doesn't blow in when people open them.

Do porta potties freeze in a Lubbock winter?

The holding tank rarely freezes solid, but handwash water and flush tanks can. When a hard freeze is forecast, we add a winter tank treatment and drain or protect sink water. December and January lows average in the upper 20s.

Can you put it in my alley?

We'll place it at the alley edge of your lot, never in the travel lane. City trash trucks need the alley clear, and anything left in the city right-of-way for more than an hour may need a City of Lubbock ROW permit.

Is there anywhere you won't set a unit?

We won't set a unit in low spots that turn into playa water after a storm, under power lines, on septic lids, or in front of an alley trash cart. Lubbock has roughly one playa per square mile inside city limits, and streets carry runoff for 30–40 minutes after a rain.

Where's the best spot for it?

The best spot is level and firm, within about 10 feet of where our truck can park. Keep it 20 feet or more from food, downwind of seating, and in afternoon shade in summer. On new-build lots, keep it clear of the slab, the dumpster and material drops.

Can I move it after you drop it?

Please don't. Full units tip, leak and crack, and staked units can pull loose. Text us a photo of the new spot and the driver will reposition it on the next visit. For film crews we can leave a trailer hitch unlocked by agreement.

Prices and billing

How much is a porta potty rental in Lubbock?

A standard event unit starts at $249 with delivery and pickup. Deluxe flushing units with a sink start at $445 each when you rent two or more. Construction units start at $165 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. A $29.95 fuel charge and tax apply. Your quote shows every line.

Is it priced by the day?

No, events are priced per event. One day or five costs the same, because the cost is the truck trip, the cleaning and the pickup. That's why weekend parties get a Friday drop-off and a Monday pickup at no extra charge.

What's your basic monthly fee?

A standard jobsite unit starts at $165 per 28-day cycle. That includes delivery inside our local area and one pump, clean and restock every week. A $29 removal fee is charged once at the end. There's no contract, and billing stops at the end of the cycle when you call.

What's the pickup fee for?

The $29 removal fee covers the final trip, pump-out and haul-back. It's charged once, when the job ends, not every month. Event packages already include pickup.

What do 20 or 30 units cost for a big event?

Orders of 10 or more standard units start at $215 per unit for a weekend, delivery and pickup included. Add accessible units at about 1 in 20 and handwash stations at 1 per 10 toilets. We send a written quote by text so your committee can compare.

How much is a restroom trailer?

Two-station trailers start at $1,800 for an event. Three-station trailers start around $2,900. Trailers need a 110–120V outlet and a hose, and if the site has no power we add a generator, which raises the price. Two deluxe flushing units are the lower-cost option.

Is a deluxe unit cheaper than a trailer?

Yes. A pair of deluxe flushing units with sinks starts at about $445 each, versus $1,800 or more for a 2-station trailer. Deluxe units need no power or water, but they're single-stall with no A/C or built-in lights.

What other fees could show up?

Your quote lists them before you pay: a $29.95 fuel charge, 3% card processing, sales tax, a rush fee for same-day, a distance charge for far routes, extra services from $80, and a trip fee if the site is locked or blocked.

Can you work with my budget?

Often, yes. Booking further ahead, choosing standard instead of deluxe, grouping units on one drop, or taking a weekday delivery all lower the price. Tell us your number and we'll show what fits. We won't cut servicing to hit it.

When do you charge my card?

At booking. You get the invoice by text and email to e-sign. Cancel at least 24 hours before drop-off and the charge is reversed, which usually shows up in 3–5 business days.

Choosing a unit

What does a standard porta potty mean?

A standard unit is the regular single-stall porta potty: toilet seat, urinal, holding tank, toilet paper and hand sanitizer. No flush, no sink, no hookups. It's right for jobsites, car shows, field days and casual parties.

Is the one that flushes the deluxe one?

Yes. The deluxe unit has a foot-pump flush, a sink with fresh water, soap and paper towels. It needs no plumbing. It's the usual pick for birthdays, graduations and weddings when guests expect more than a jobsite unit.

Is a deluxe unit bigger than a handicap unit?

No. A deluxe flushing unit is about 47 inches square. A wheelchair-accessible unit is about 62 inches square, and an ADA-compliant unit is about 66 by 86 inches. Measure your gate before choosing.

Can people see inside at night?

Standard and deluxe units have a translucent roof that lights them by day, but no electric lights. For evening events we add stick-on battery lights inside each unit. Restroom trailers have built-in lighting and work with a generator.

Does it come stocked with toilet paper?

Yes. Every unit arrives pumped, sanitized and stocked with toilet paper. Standard units have hand sanitizer. Deluxe units and handwash stations add soap and paper towels. Long-term units are restocked every week.

Do I need an ADA unit?

For public events, plan at least 5% of the units in each cluster as accessible, and never fewer than one. Private parties need one only if a guest uses a wheelchair or walker. If an inspector will check, rent the ADA-compliant model with paperwork.

How many people per porta potty?

Plan 1 standard unit per 50 guests for an event up to 4 hours. PSAI rates a unit at about 200 uses between services. Longer events, alcohol and mostly female crowds need more units or a mid-event service.

Do I need a handwashing station?

Add one whenever food is served, at petting zoos, and on jobsites where crews handle paint, coatings or chemicals. Plan 1 station per 10 toilets. Deluxe units have their own sink, which covers small parties.

Service and cleaning

How often do you clean it?

Long-term units get serviced once a week. Each visit we pump the tank, disinfect, scrub, deodorize and restock. Event units arrive clean. Busy sites, summer heat and multi-day events can add extra services.

Can I add a service visit?

Yes, from $80 a visit. Big jobsites, three-day events and tailgate lots often add one. For multi-day festivals, the most useful slot is overnight between day one and day two.

Will it smell in the summer heat?

Heat speeds up odor, and Lubbock's July highs average about 93°F. Shade, a breeze, and twice-weekly service for busy units keep it under control. We add fresh deodorizer every visit.

Do you pump RV holding tanks?

Yes. On-site RV and camper pump-outs start at $165 when our truck can park within about 50 feet. We don't pump home septic systems. Call a licensed septic company for that.

Builds, oilfield and farms

Does the city require a porta potty on my build?

Lubbock adopted the 2021 International Plumbing Code, and section 311.1 says toilet facilities shall be provided for construction workers and kept sanitary. OSHA 1926.51 sets the counts for employers. Builders who skip it get flagged. Ask your inspector what they expect on your permit.

How many toilets for my crew?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers up to 199. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service, which keeps lines and odor down.

What are the rules for an oilfield location?

OSHA says drilling and servicing fall under general industry, 29 CFR 1910.141. That means 1 toilet for 1–15 employees, 2 for 16–35, 3 for 36–55, and up from there. Mobile crews with quick transport to facilities are exempt. Site prep and pad building count as construction.

Do harvest crews need toilets?

Yes, on farms with 11 or more hand laborers. OSHA 1928.110 requires 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility per 20 workers, within a quarter-mile walk, unless crews are in the field 3 hours or less. Towable units move with the crew.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. The minimum is one 28-day cycle. After that it rolls cycle to cycle until you call for pickup. Keep it a month or a year.

Can my company get an account?

Yes. Business accounts get emailed invoices with your PO or job number, one portal for every unit, and a single contact for add-ons and pickups across multiple sites.

Weather, damage and special jobs

What if the weather forecast turns bad?

Cancel free up to 24 hours before drop-off. For a Saturday event, that's Thursday by 3 PM. If storms or a dust event threaten, call and we'll move your date instead of cancelling. Weather isn't your fault, and we don't charge for it.

Who pays if it gets damaged?

You do if it's misuse, vandalism, fire, a tipped unit you moved, or items in the tank that don't belong. Normal wear is on us. We aren't responsible for minor ruts from a truck on soft ground.

Can you move a trailer between locations each day?

Yes. For film shoots, tours and races, we drop at one location in the morning and pick up at night, then move to the next site. Give us each ZIP and the call times. We can leave the hitch unlocked for your licensed drivers by agreement.

Can I rent porta potties for a game-day tailgate?

Yes, for private lots, businesses and organized tailgates near Jones AT&T Stadium and around town. Plan about 1 unit per 50 tailgaters for 6 hours, plus extra if alcohol is served. Get permission from the lot owner, and book by the Tuesday of game week.

Are you a broker or a local company?

We're local. (806) 301-4747 rings at our Lubbock dispatch on 34th Street, not a national call center that resells someone else's units. The person who books you talks to the drivers.
